Sometimes you are ambling along in life and something comes along that knocks you off track. In fact in this case not one thing but a whole few weeks of little horrible things; a funeral, some disappointing news, finding a scratch on the car, the list goes on.
I am reminded that it's just 'life' but it's oh-so-hard when it slaps you in the face! At times like this I take comfort in my family, reading my sons favourite digger book with him and the fact that he's started to say 'mummy' instead of mumma. When I'd rather hide under the duvet it's these little things in life that keep me going.

A journey deep into the woods today to join in with a nut hunt. The aim of the event was to find nibbled nuts on the woodland floor, and by looking at the nibbles around the nut you can see if it was nibbled by bank vole, wood mouse or maybe a dormouse - who loves eating hazel nuts in particular.
A hazel nut nibbled by a dormouse above, we didn't find any but others did! The ones we found were nibbled by bank voles or squirrels.
We did find hundreds and hundreds of acorns though - I think they'll be a few squirrels that will be cross that we'd pinched their nuts.
