being Proud

Today I was proud, of my husband, who despite working full time, and having the demands of a two year old child and new baby on the way (and demanding wife of course!) embarked upon a two year MSc (Master of Science) postgrad in Ecology and today he graduated from Bristol University. Today I was also proud of my eldest son Alfie, who at the grand old age of four sat through a long graduation ceremony, despite a few fidgets here and there. Three people stopped me to tell me what a credit he was to me! Sometimes a complete strangers words can stop you in your tracks and make you realise just what you have right under your nose, and I have a beautiful, kind, well mannered, creative and energetic boy. I vowed right there and then to stop more often and acknowledge this and celebrate him much more x

We were looking in a few charity shops this morning and found two flat caps. Alfie wanted us to buy them straight away as "that's what Farmer's wear mummy, and we can wear them to the Farmer's market", so we did and do you know, there were no Farmer's in caps at the Market!

We also found a scooter in good condition in one shop so we asked the price and bought it for £2.50 much to Alfie's delight at finding so much treasure in one day, until we got outside and a mum with young boy said "that's ours we left it in the shop, they shouldn't have sold it to you". I explained to Alfie how daft the boy was to leave it and that we would go into the shop and get our money back and give the boy back his scooter, which Alfie did without complaining once, despite having fallen in love with his new scooter. I couldn't believe how understanding he was of the situation, sometimes he is a wise old soul, many years ahead of his age.

a new career?

I offered to take pictures at Barbara & Steve's Wedding, obviously I am not a profesisonal photographer, but as they hadn't booked a photographer and I love taking photos, it just had to be! I had the most amazing day and snapped over 400 pictures with a good 50 that I am happy with. Not all are technically perfect, but I think they capture the beauty of the day, I hope that Barbara and Steve agree!
